An existing Grade I listed pier, built in 1800’s, underwent a significant refurbishment by installing an underground cafe within the existing walkway down onto the pier.
The main contractor decided to move forward with a temporary roof to aid project completion. The temporary roof was required to provide a water tight working area to aid the installation of a new glass frame and finishings of the new underground building.
With the significant listing of the pier, no intrusive anchors or damage was permitted to the bridge.
TR used the existing bedrock to found the existing temporary roof off. Using a combination of RMD Superslim, Generation 450 beams and Haki 750 beams, TR managed to deliver the best solution using various different components.
By not having a single supplier, TR managed to provide a solution which was easily installed, while keeping material costs at a minimum as no bespoke materials were required to be purchased.
